Berlin Noir worth it? Are you kidding? Only one of the best, toughest noir trilogies of recent times. Please read it.

Kevin, didn't Liza Cody get into a situation with the Anna Lee books where she sold the name or rights to the TV producers of the series and now she can't write any more of them because they own the character? Seems to me I read something about this a couple of years ago.

I just got back from the Southeastern Booksellers Association trade show, so sorry to be a little late in the topics. I had the very great pleasure there of meeting Tom Franklin, author of Poachers. Not sure if the short stories in this book are exactly hard-boiled crime fiction, but they sure are bleak and brilliant portrayals of criminal low-lifes, by turns raw, violent and wistful. The title story is in Best Mystery Stories of 1999.

Yes, John Flood is a pseudonym.
