I used to really like Homicide, but typically for English tv programmers it was always on at ridiculously late times (see Seinfeld,Larry Sanders et al) What I found interesting is the growing John Munch industry, as related in the Guardian newspaper. Is there any programme from the US that doesn't feature him? Let's see; Law & Order, X Files, a Brady Bunch movie(let's see, will that be classed as HB) Special Victims Unit and a new show called the Beat. What next, Sesame Street? Also in the Guardian last week, a shortish interview with George P Pelacanos, which was interesting, and growing proof of the recognition that authors like him and his genre are receiving in the quality press over here.
