Spillane's views, of course, were right out of the times he
lived, but most of the criticisms of him are more or less the
same as they were forty or fifty years ago. A few more big
words, maybe, a bit more socialogy, and the current braindead
buzzword of "political correctness" worked into the mix, but
the criticism is essentially the same as it ever was:
Spillane went
"too far."
I'm still ambivalent about Spillane, myself, but the
criticism of him is nothing new, only the words change.
