Regarding Ellroy's comments about Jim Thompson/The Killer Inside Me, I recollect reading Ellroy say somewhere that he commonly wrote book jacket blurbs for other authors without having read the books. As such, I would suggest that Ellroy's opinions on other authors are not to be taken seriously...
