RARA-AVIS: Red Harvest - the movie

It's a shame that nobody has adapted this great hardboiled novel for the screen. I hereby propose, as a first-ditch effort, Donald Westlake as scriptwriter and Roman Polanski as director. Not that the prodigious Westlake needs any work, but he is the man for the job. He may even be classy and sassy enough to get along with Polanski. The actors? Harry Dean Stanton should be in it; all current "hot" Hollywood stars are to be avoided since they can only play themselves (that is, they can't act and calling them actors is a euphemism of the worst sort).

Regards,
