Friends,
I had occasion to purchase and view the original "Diabolique"
French movie. It was a real thrill! How much modern film
makers can and refuse to learn from such movies!

If you have not seen this (you should!) you might one to skip
the next paragraph, although it does not reveal anything
explicitly.
I am very happy that all sources, including reviews,
catalogues, etc. that I had seen commenting or advertising it
never revealed or hinted at its secret. I figured it out in
the last 20-30 minutes and this was still great suspense.
Such restraint is commendable and rare. I am still annoyed at
the trailer included in the "Rebecca" video of a few year
back released by Fox/Playhouse. It revealed one of the main
surprises in the movie. Luckily, I had seen ot before. When
lending it to anyone I used to advise them to fast forward
the tape to the beginning of the movie.
