Hello, all.

      I like Crais as well. Elvis and Joe are clearly cut from the same cloth as Spenser and Hawk. On the whole I'd say Elvis's wit is more in-your-face than Spenser's. Cole seems to be the 90s preppie P.I. to Spenser's wily veteran.
       Crais comes into his own with L.A. REQIUEM. While I wouldn't consider the first seven Coles hardboiled, REQIUEM certainly is, giving Crais the scope to really explore what separates his dynamic duo from the rest.
       For newcomers to Crais, I'd recommend reading the books in order. This is a good way to build to the climax of L.A. REQUIEM.
