Another of his screen appearances -- and probably the most peculiar one -- is in the Swedish ultra-low budget movie "Hammar" (~1989). Spillane appears as himself in the prologue and epilogue, walking around Stockholm, reading aloud from a vintage '50s paperback of
"My Gun Is Quick". Otherwise, the movie is sort of a modernized version of Cervantes' "Don Quixote" (not HB to my knowledge), in which the main character has overdosed on HB pulp literature to the extent that he thinks he really is a '50s New York P.I. Then he gets involved in a real case... Haven't seen it, though from what I have gathered it wasn't very good; too talkative, confusing and just plain weird. Pretty interesting idea, though.
