Is that what most of the recent Spenser books are like? The mystery's solution was pretty obvious, and the rest was a) Spenser and Susan cooking and smooching and b) Spenser and Hawk being tough. I could see this getting pretty boring.

I did enjoy the A&E adaptaton, but mostly because it was filmed in Toronto, home town of this list. When Spenser chased the bad guy down a hill, they were about 10 minutes west of me, right by where I go for walks (by the Humber River). When he captured the bad guy, they were in the Royal Ontario Museum, which is never that crowded in real life. The final scene of Spenser and Susan together was shot in Nathan Phillips Square, in front of City Hall. Some of it was filmed right after the massive snowfall we had in January, which melted in a couple of weeks, which is why in some scenes the snow was up to waist level and in others wasn't there at all.
