RARA-AVIS: Black Mask Boys

Sun, 9 May 1999 23:12:30 -0400 In my pursuit of learning more about hardboiled mysteries, I think I have
identified eight major writers of this venue: Dashiell Hammett, Raymond
Chandler, Erle Stanley Gardner, Carroll John Daly, Horace McCoy, Paul Cain,
Frederick Nebel and Raoul Whitfield. I know there are more, but who would
they be?

And was Whitfield's protagonist Greer someone? I think I saw that somewhere,
but in my anthologies, I can't find any of his stories. Thanks for the
input.
