Thu, 08 Apr 1999 13:22:27 -0400 There's a book by Dorothea Brand published originally in 1934 called
"Becoming a Writer" that is a gem. I first heard of it in an essay by
Rod Serling, who recommended it to all beginning writers.
It addresses the methods and motors of writing rather than genre,
form, etc. -- more about how to get into the process than setting
criteria for what is written.
An excellent, fast read, it is still widely available in paperback.
