Hunter needs every one of those words to produce the complex
emotional
effects he's shooting for. He's a long distance runner who
plays the
game with skill and a patience that can sometimes be
maddening but
almost always pays off in deep, rich dividends. I think some
of his
more interesting goals and themes are often overlooked by
critics who
only see the "testosterone" and the gun lore.
But I could be wrong.....
