Thanks for the reminder, Mark. I now recall Dudley's brutal
role in
_Clandestine_, an extremely violent and excellent novel. Some
scenes
turned my stomach when I read it. This one doesn't get
mentioned nearly
as often as Ellroy's later novels, but it's well worth
reading.
