RARA-AVIS: The Gurls, Ford as McGee and That Archer Guy

Well, that's a no-brainer. I don't think mentioning them in the same breath
(or sentence, even) makes them Siamese twins. Hammett, Chandler and
Macdonald are always mentioned together, too, and I don't think they're
exactly clones, either, even if they are all men.

And the latest movie news, if someone's not shitting me: Harrison Ford as,
presumably, an older Travis McGee, is being shopped around. Have we read
any John D. MacDonald on the list yet?

And Robert Parker wrote a short piece on his (and other writers' debt to
Macdonald) in INWARD JOURNEY, the book of essays on Macdonald that I think
I mentioned before.
