RARA-AVIS: Kubrick

Haven't seen "The Killing" recently, but remember it as a wonderfully grim
experience.

While I know that most will think of 2001, Clockwork Orange, and Dr.
Strangelove, I still like his adaptation of Lolita, which preserves the
black humor of Nabokov, even while dealing with the Forbidden Subject of
stepfather lust. The revenge killing of Claire Quilty (Peter Sellers) is a
classic noir event in itself.
