Anybody on this list should like the Scudders. The burglar
books sometimes
can have very funny bits in them. I like the discussions of new
Grafton
titles especially. They are pretty formulaic though. The
Tanners are almost
like Matt Helm light. They remind me of some of the early comic
books
Westlake wrote under his own name, but they aren't as funny. I
like them,
but they are dated. His Chip Harrisons are imitation Rex Stout.
I've like
the early non-series books some of which are hard boiled.
