Both Slayground and the Grofield book, The Black Bird, have the same opening
scene as Parker and Grofield botch an armored car robbery. It's interesting
to see how they diverge as Westlake started both books with the two running
from a Ford, guns drawn, to the armored car they have overturned. There are
references to this robbery in later books in both series. I agree that
Slayground is one of the best of a great series.
