Re: RARA-AVIS: Parker/Porter (Picked a Peck...)

Tue, 16 Feb 1999 23:30:50 -0500 (EST) Slayground was the first Parker book I read, in whichever reprinting put
a big #1 on the cover of it, the first in their series of "The Violent
World of Parker." I was blown away by it, but after reading them all in
the order in which I was able to track them down and then again in
chronological order, plus The Hunter at least one or two more times, I
think I slightly prefer the early ones. Still, there's not a bad one in
the bunch. And he's still got it. I recently read the latest,
Backflash, and it is an amazingly tight, thrilling read. Westlake has
one more written, Flashfire, which he says will be published late this
year.
