I saw this version of The Big Sleep when it played DC a year or two ago.
The new scenes, meant to capitalize on Bogart and Bacall's memorable
scenes in To Have and Have Not and their real-life romance, definitely
add to the film. I just wish someone would put the DA's office scene
back into the improved version. It really does help in understanding
the film, although they still don't explain the chauffeur's death.
