RARA-AVIS: Product Placement

I use product names in my books, and I use the names of real
places and
celebrities. I don't have anything against having my books
being tied to a
specific time and place. In fact, that's what I prefer. I don't
think I'd
ever do what John D. MacDonald did in THE GOOD OLD STUFF and
update the
stories by changing product names and so on. I think it was a
mistake for
him to do it, but then he was JDM and I'm just me.
