RARA-AVIS: Fawcett Gold Medal

Fawcett is not part of Ballantine/Fawcett/Random
House/Whatever. Fawcett
Gold Medal Books are still being published now and then. One of
the editors
who worked with John D. MacDonald is still there, I believe.
They don't
have much of a library however. Several years ago, Marvin H.
Albert needed
a copy of one of his books. Fawcett couldn't provide it. An
editor there
wrote me to ask if I had a copy, which I did. I didn't let
Albert have it,
but I did photocopy it for him. Albert, by the way, is an often
overlooked
writer of some pretty good private-eye and crime novels. His
Stone Angel
series was published by Gold Medal until his death.
