I had read an interview with Leonard wherein he stated that
he was a big
fan of the rock group and the old dinosaurs would be the
supporting
characters in the

In the acknowledgments he credits Aerosmith and Stephen Davis
(author of
Walk This Way) for providing some material for the portrait
of the band.
He also credits the Stone Coyotes (http://www.stonecoyotes.com
) for songs
used in the book. He dedicates the book to the Stone
Coyotes.
