also would second Jim Doherty's selection of Death of a Citizen. read the
book some 30 years ago. its theme of a dangerous man lying dormant and drawn
back into his former life has stuck with me since then.

my particular favorite is #14- The Intriguers. in this, Helm works with his
boss Mac's daughter because of intramural, political infighting which renders
other operatives untrustworthy. Helm finds out the true indentity of his
mysterious superior. bad guys are other U.S. government agents- not rogue,
just lacking in the will to do what is necessary. again, read this book
decades ago, so if I'm murky on the plot points, that's why.

also remember #18- The Terrorizers, where Helm has the old genre standby-
amnesia- and doesn't realize what a dangerous mofo he really is until the bad
guys come to try and kill him.
