Jim, while I pretty much agree with your definitions of noir
and
hardboiled, I have to nit-pick about one thing. The great
Murder My
Sweet was not the first time Farewell My Lovely was filmed. It
was shot
earlier as The Falcon Takes Over. American Movie Classics
occasionally
runs it (along with others in the Falcon series). I finally
remembered
to taqpe it recently, now I've just got to get around to
watching it.
