Was DOWN THERE the Goodis book that Truffaut turned into "Shoot
the Piano Player?" - --steve >>

Yes, this was "Shoot" was the movie version of the book.. I just watched it
with subtitles. The character of Lena in the book has been said to be the key
to the novel. Goodis gives us background on Eddie but not Lena. What kind of
life do you think Lena had? Remember Goodis likes the Fall from grace story as
he did with Eddie a once classical piano player now playing piano in a bar.
Lena is broke waiting tables at the bar --- what grace did she fall from???

Thanks
