Back in November while discussing Raoul Whitfield, you mentioned you had a
top ten list. Care to list for us?

Roger Dowdy:

<<Just finished Raoul Whitfield's _Green Ice_ and loved it. I really
enjoyed the way he leads the reader through the plot. He also deals
nicely with quite a few different characters without allowing the story
to become too confusing. I know Whitfield had at least two other books:
_Death in A Bowl_ and _The Virgin Kills_. Are these just as good? >>

I'm glad you liked it - this is one of my favorite books (hell, I even
included it in My Top Ten List...). He only wrote those three novels --
but his many short stories are wonderful. Unfortunately, they have never
been collected (not even the celebrated Jo Gar series). You can find
some in hardboiled and pulp anthologies, of which Whitfield is pretty
much a fixture.

As to your question, the other two novels are quite different - they are
not as ground-breaking as _Green Ice_. Nevertheless, they are terrific
reads.

Regards,

MT
