This will be the second movie in a series loosely, very
loosely, based
on the 1948 film Naked City. That was a landmark film in its
use of
location shooting in New York. I saw the first of these new
Naked City
movies. Basically, it's just a made-for-cable cop movie set in
the Big
Apple using the original movie's tag line, also used in the
later TV
series, "There are eight million stories in the Naked City;
this is just
one of them." The title for all of them is taken from Weegee's
classic
book of photographs of New York. The original movie intercut
street
scenes of an ordinary day in New York to contrast with the
murder
investigation going on. I don't remember their doing this in
the cable
update.
