Recently Duane asked:

"I didn't realize Name of The Game Is Death was part of a series -- and I've
read it twice! Did Black Lizard publish any others by Marlowe? Can someone
post the titles in this series? Did the series have a name? -- Duane"

The series featured a professional thief turned spy named Earl Drake. They
were originally published by Gold Medal. The series was billed as "Drake -
the Man with Nobody's Face." I don't have a list of the entire series, but
one entry, 1970's *Flashpoint* won the Edgar for Best Paperback Original
Novel. Most of the Drake series were two word titles, the first word being
"Operation," the second being whatever the novel was about (possibly taking
a cue from Aarons's Sam Durell "Assignment" series or Atlee's Joe Gall
"Contract" series). To make it compatible with other titles in the series,
later editions of *Flashpoint* were published under the title *Operation
Flashpoint*. I don't know whether or not Black Lizrd reprinted any other
books in the Drake series. - Jim Doherty
