<<Say the first Matt Helm book, _Death of a Citizen_?
Amazon.com does show it as being out of print but it's the kind of
book that's not hard to find in used stores, at least in North
America. Perhaps those who can't find it can substitute another Matt
Helm book.>>

SPOILER:
DEATH OF A CITIZEN is pretty good, and certainly an excellent beginning for
the series. However, Helm acts like such a sap through a lot of the book --
or, perhaps I should say he looks like a sap to someone who's read a lot of
spy/hardboiled novels (can't he see he's being set up?) -- and I wonder if
maybe the second or third books of the series might be a better book for
the list. -- Duane
