think of another editor who has done more to keep good 50s noir writing
in the "public's" eye.>

Ed's a versatile guy, perhaps one of the few among us who, like the
writers of 60 or 70 years ago, can write competently in many genres and
anthologize good stories and essays on the most critically important of
our genres. Besides that, he's a good guy, and I'm not just saying that
because he published me. He cares about the work and the writer, and
there are fewer and fewer of him left.
