Nothing like good old fashioned criticism with lots of depth. How could anyone
accuse Gorman of being a hack? Put aside his "hack writing" for a minute
(whether you like his books or not, they ARE well written) and explain how the
guy who has ALMOST singlehandedly resurrected crime gems from the past could
be a hack? Outside of Bill Pronzini, I can't think of another editor who has
done more to keep good 50s noir writing in the "public's" eye.
