RARA-AVIS: BIG Book of Noir

Frank D (bearlodge@email.msn.com)
Fri, 6 Nov 1998 23:33:31 -0800 I've just returned from a quick trip to Portland, Oregon to see a Monet
exhibit. Doesn't that sound hard-boiled? But afterward I picked up The Big
Book of Noir. Having returned home, I sat down and leafed through it. My
impression is that it's a book that nobody in our crowd would want to miss.
Sells for right around $20. Etienne has given you part of the table of
contents. This has a little bit of everything, interviews, lists of people
to read, lists of books to read, lists of movies to see. A few pictures,
but really packed with words. I can see that I'm going to spend a lot of
hours, both educational and entertaining, between those covers. Congrats
to Bill Crider, Bob Skinner, Etienne Borgers for contributing to this book.

Cheers,

Frank D.
