As far as I know, "Happy birthday, Tuerke" was Arjouni's first novel.
I would be interested to know what the US-readers think of his works.
When I read "Happy birthday", I was utterly disappointed.
To me it seemed to be a very cheap and uninspired copy of Chandler's
"Little Sister".
Still, he is very popular in Germany so I could be totally wrong (or
his later books might be better).
