Wed, 28 Oct 1998 00:04:55 -0500 (EST) I just finished reading by third Ian Rankin/John Rebus book, Tooth and
Nail. I was a little disappointed. The plotting was not nearly as
tight as the first two and Rebus made a couple of huge intuitive leaps
to get to his final conclusion. Plus I have never been a big fan of
"series character visits another city" books. The author's foreign take
on another city is never as interesting to me as his take on his home
which he obviously knows so much more intimately.

The book was still good, it just wasn't as good as the earlier ones.
Alison is very correct that Rankin writes a great noir. And I've
already got the next Rebus book, Strip Jack, in my pile to be read.
