If you're wedded to the year 1929, I'd suggest two songs from
1928--"Button Up Your Overcoat" and "Makin' Whoopee." In 1929 you've
got two great Fats Waller tunes (Fats was a great one for writings songs
into which sly innuendo could be injected) "Ain't Misbehavin'" and
Honeysuckle Rose." Nineteen Twenty-Nine is also the year "Stardust,"
perhaps the most romantic song ever written, was recorded.

If I were you, though, I think I'd opt for 1930, then you could use
"Little White Lies," a song that can really be enhanced by a girl singer
who can inject a sly, roguish quality into it.
