Re: RARA-AVIS: Femme Fatales the Modern Take

Tue, 29 Sep 1998 23:11:12 +0100 Since someone recommended Wild Things I watched and thought it was pretty
good. Twisty as all get out. Neve Cambell was a 20 minute egg. She
continues in the tradition of the other two movies in the modern noir
genre: Body Heat and the Last Seduction.

What I find interesting about these three films are how they are all direct
decendants of the classic hard boiled dame Bridget O' Shaunessy. But the
latter three films didn't have a Sam Spade to check mate her. There was not
a man who she couldn't manipulate. If she couldn't manpulate them, as in
Gutman, there was always a Floyd Thursby to settle their hash.

And Woman Created Chump.

Rent these three films. Become truly paranoid about women. If your married
make sure she knows everthing is in her name. Sam Spades only come around
once in awhile. <GRIN>
