Based in London, Slow Dancer Press have put out a 'sampler' and
it
contains some interesting looking stuff so I thought I'd pass
it on.
"Blue Lightning". A collection of 18 previously unpub. shorts
inc
Cody, Duffy, Harvey, mossley and Sallis all with a 'beat'
theme;
jazz, blues, gansta rap...
Neville Smiths "Gumshoe". Re-issue of the book of the film of
the
book based in that great metropolitan sea port and amalgam of
all
things sweet and hardbioled, Liverpool.
"New Orleans Mourning" Julie Smith featuring Skip Logan a
"..policewoman with balls" (it says here)
"Ladder of Angels" Brain Thompson - a follow up to "Bad to the
bone"
- and "..one of the best Brit crime novels of the
decade".
There's more but the best thing is to check out the site:
www.mellotone.co.uk
or e-mail them at:

"Cos it's strange, isn't it. You stand in the
middle of a library and go 'Aaaaaaagghhhh' and
everyone just stares at you. But you do the
same thing on an aeroplane, and everyone joins in."
Tommy Cooper
