Well, I started my foray into hardboiled. I've been on the list, and
have enjoyed the posts/discussions. I was always hesitant to join in, as
I wasnt even quite sure WHAT hard-boiled is! Thanks to all for the great
suggestions!
While at my fave used bookstore, I saw BLOSSOM by Andrew Vachss. The
author's name rang a bell, so I got it. It so happens I grew up in "the
region", so this was an added bonus. I liked the book, but must say that
he was in a parallel universe to the one I recall! The roads and
geographical stuff was familiar..but it ended there! All that aside..he
drew me in, and I truly enjoyed the book. I have sent it on to my
sister, so can't say the year of pub. Was it an early one? Is it part of
a series? Have any of you read it? What did you think of the book???
Next, I read FLESH WOUNDS by Stephen Greenleaf. This book is great! I
will be on the lookout for more of his.
Prior to the last year, I was a reader who bought off the
grocery-shelf. So, basically read what was easily available. I
appreciate rara-avis and dorothyl for the great suggestions. THANKS!
