Buford Pusser was a sheriff in McNairy County, Tennessee,
not
Arkansas. Re the two-part "Untouchables" pilot shown on
*Desilu
Playhouse, which Karlsen also directed; it was released to
theatres in
1962 under the title *The Scarface Mob*, and is available on
video
under that title from Paramount Home Video. It is in most
ways as
good, in some ways better, than the more expensive 1987
remake with
Kostner and Connery. Also much closer to what happened in
real life
