I went to the library (where I work) and despite all the library bashing
that has appeared here lately (OK--I'm kidding), they had the videocassette
set for THE SINGING DETECTIVE.

Run and get this right away, if you can. It is absolutely mind boggling.
It is long, convoluted, noirish, subliminal, and wonderful. I was drained
when it was done. It really has little to do Marlowe's dreams of
re-writing his private eye novel (wherein he stars as the P. I.) and has
more to do with him wrestling with his private demons that have given him a
horrible skin condition. But don't mind that, just run out and rent this
and watch it. It's great.
Best, GWN.
