I can't say I was much of a fan of the film Cat Chaser, either.
I also
wasn't thrilled by Dangerous Games, but I saw the rated
version, does
that make a difference in this case. I agree it made a big
difference
in Bad Lieutenant. I saw the uncut one in the theater and
thought it
was pretty great (tried to watch the cut version at home, but
had to
turn it off it was so bad), largely due to Keitel. If anyone
else had
been in that role, it would have come of as pure exploitation.
Keitel
added a depth of charater that I'm not sure was in the
script.
King of New York is probably Ferrara's masterpiece, but I
kind of liked
Addiction, at least until he made it clear that Lily Taylor
was, indeed,
a vampire. I liked it much better when it was up to the
viewer whether
it was real or delusion.
