The FAQ might even include guidance on setting up a mailing
list, so
if there is a need for a serial-killer list, or even a
'Michener and
Clancy' list, or even a Dorothy-L-II, those feeling the need
will
have the necessary instructions to go and play
together."
I have to agree with Ed, I certainly didn't sign on to this
list to
discuss Clancy or other spy thrillers that don't fit (with
rare
exception) in either noir or hard-boiled classfication.
I actually had a chance to read TPART this past weekend and
I
understand how the 200 pages discussion got started in the
first
place. I'm sure I remember someone mentioning the first
sentence of
TPART and the economy of words of Cain. He presents a story
with all
the plot points intact without any fluff (or writing longer).
I
folded over a page with a great passage showing this to read
again
later on.
