I also read Killing of the Saints. I liked it very much. Like
you, I'm
always very skeptical when the supernatural enters the
hardboiled world,
but as I recall, Abella did a good job of leaving it up in the
air
whether or not anything supernatural had happened, whether or
not
Santeria worked.
I'm glad he's coming out with another book. Every time I run
across the
first in a store, it reminds me to wonder if there was a
second.
