Actually, Derek Raymond was 63 when he died in July 1994 of
liver
cancer. This is according to a Washington Post obit--I'm
convinced the
only reason they noticed the wire report of his death was
because he was
listed under his real name, Robin Cook. (His first batch of
books were
published under that name, beginning in 1962. Somewhere in the
June
archives, a few of us worked up a pretty complete
bibliography.)
His friend Iain Sinclair writes of his last few days, funeral
(at which
Mark Timlin read from Raymond's Hidden Files) and wake in one
chapter of
his essay collection Lights Out For the Territory.
