Elliot Gould has read most, if not all, of Chandler's Marlowe novels
on tape. I even saw one the other day that was unabridged. I've
heard two or three of them and liked them, and I think even people who
didn't like Gould's movie performance of Marlowe would like them.
Darren McGavin has done some Travis McGee books and he does quite a
good job. If you got into either one, you'd have hours and hours of
tape to pass the time.
