read it a little while ago. thought it built suspense in an
interesting way
initially, but after awhile seemed to have nowhere to go and
started retracing
its steps. certainly some outre material along the way, and I
am not one who
shocks or offends easily. did think the ending was ironic in a
very
hardboiled way.
