Charlie Haden
Quartet West? The Haunted Heart CD is particularly great in a
film noir
soundtrack kind of way. Along with originals, it includes
songs by Jo
Stafford, Jeri Southern and Billie Holiday, first their
versions, then
the Quartet's renditions of them. Song titles include Hello
My Lovely,
The Long Goodbye, and Lady in the Lake. Think they might be
Chandler
fans? Their next CD, Always Say Goodbye, is almost as
good.
