This thread reminds me of the John Harvey (Charles Resnick) and
Peter
Robinson (Inspector Banks) [as well as that great Deborah
Crombie's
kINCAID/jAMES books) that none of these folks have any contact
(except
for Ms. Crombie being married to a copper) with being a
policeman for
former policeman, yet their books seem terribly real to me. How
about a
comment on Paul Bishop's books--except for the horrible name
Faye Croker
and a woman's point of view--they must be real because he is
really a
policeman.
