My friends who know me, know me well and they know I don't do
"cozies",
but, I have to tell you I read CONTRARY BLUES by John
Billingheim and it
has the best "scam" story which I do love. It's about West
Virginia and
the Department of transportation and you truly root for the bad
guys and
hope they win despite the fact that you know they can't. Seems
this
small town (Contrary, WV) made a slight "clerical error" and
the DOT is
paying the town federal money to run 20 buses. Get this book
and thnk
"hard boiled" as you read a truly comic scam romp.
