I'm big on Lawrence Block. A few years back a bibliography of
his works was
published. I have it; it's in a chapbook format. I'm not sure
I'm up to
sitting down and keying it in. Some of his older books used to
mention he'd
written over 100 books. I wrote him, said I had 45 and where
were the
others. He sent me a couple I didn't have (the first BURGLAR)
and said he
pretty much didn't acknowledge authoring the balance. Pulp
novels and such.
His list of pseudonyms is famous for its length. The ones he
has confirmed
are listed in Hawkes' reference book. PLAYBOY can thank
Lawrence Block for
my subscription. Many of his shorts are published first there.
His short
stories, that is.
